Medieval Map of the Philippines

Insulae Philippinae ex Autographo Manilae Ao 1734 jussu regio per Don Fernandum Valdes Tamon,
General Fernando Valdes Tamon was a Spanish General who made some spectacular descriptions of architectural structures all over the Philippine archipelago.  He probably used this map  of the Philippines by Murillo Velarde dated circa 1734. It's amazing how, despite their lack of charting tools and instruments, the map is a fairly accurate representation of how the Philippines is geographically.

General Fernando Valdes Tamon has authored accurate architectural descriptions of fortifications found in Capiz during their existence, many of which are gone now.

Wow.
