some excerpts (edited of course) of my email to close pals

. . . so there, my place is okay as you have seen in my previous posts, nothing very fancy but comfy for me.

most of my updates are in my blog anyway. i havent really gone out yet except on the way to the head office or some trade fair. i haven't consciously gone to do the tourist bit yet, come to think of it, i'll be here for four years. i haven't studied the public transport system yet (tram, bus, subway/metro) because my staff baby me and always chaperon me and back and all that.

Last night I got called by the boss, at the last minute because her secretary forgot, it was Officers' meeting so I went at 4pm. I insisted to go alone and instead asked Marivic to write down the tram Numbers I was supposed to ride and all the stops until I get to my stop, transfer and ride again up to the embassy.

i didn't get lost naman, considering i really did not know where i was going. and then, on the way back it was raining. I took the first leg of my tram ride and got down where I was supposed to transfer lines. there were like 50 people in that stop but no tram. hmm they were all talking in french and I could not understand what was happening. a lot already started walking i was confused, and did not know what to do. until i heard a woman speaking on her cell in spanish that there was some sort of accident in the tram lines, involving a person (who probably got ran over) so they stopped all the tram trips. hahaha. anyway, although it was raining i had my cap on and my trench coat so i decided to walk to my hotel. (about 40 minutes walk covering 5 stops at all) not that far, plus it was like exercise haha in the cold.

you asked for a long email, and although am cheating on the font sizes and the spacing, i think this is particularly long already.

i started looking at some flats to rent for 4 years in and i was liking what i saw. heheh can't wait to get settled.

i opened my account with the ING bank here and they are soooo accomodating. they will instantly give me a gold credit card with like XXk credit limit, instant car loan etc. hehehe. their citizens pay up to 55% income taxes imagine. catherine the girl who handles my account is the account manager for expats like me in this branch hehehe. they got some wierd banking rules here, including online banking where they give you sort of a calculator to generate your password for access in the internet. like duh! so i gotta carry this all the time when i travel now? like duh. whats the use of an online account di ba?

i bought the harry potter book Deathly Hallows in Heathrow airport at about 1200 pesos, is that bad? they had a 5 pound discount over there so i plunged, anyway, i was gonna read it on the plane and here in bed. 5 pounds is about 500 bucks discount imagine?

i just learned from the office that my 2 boxes of shipments to here got delayed because i put in vitamins, whadda heck . arrrrgggggh.

so there, that's it for now.

It's okay . am renovating the office, retiring the old heavy furniture and am buying some pretty sleek ones. am buying Mac Minis for my staff and a macbook black for me for work. hehehe whaddya think?
