Tokyo Stop over enroute to Frankfurt - January 2005

This was in my hotel in Japan, I took Japan airlines from Manila and I had to stop in Tokyo, where I had a complimentary night at the Hotel Nikko something. I lived in Europe for a year, but had the shock of my life with the prices of things in Tokyo. Sheeeeeesh! 10,000 yen dinner at a normal restaurant? 5 dollar local phone calls? I'm glad i live in the third world if that's the case...

Nope. despite the proximity, we don�t have these in the Philippines . . . world�s apart totally . . . i felt like having my head and eyebrows shaved and donning a monk�s safron robes to beg for alms for the temple. . . yep that�s what buddhist guys do upon reaching a certain age . . . devout ones at least . . . 

That�s me in Wat Pho in Bangkok Thailand.. See the golden pillars of that temple? they�re made of real gold leaf . . . hehe, was thinking of scraping em off and selling them to pawnshops in Manila . . . or not!!!! 

On a business trip to Singapore, that�s the river bank near the Merlion. Merlion Park would be the first park we visited and is located next to Marina Bay on the city's edge. It is named for Singapore's tourism symbol the Merlion, half fish, half lion, and contains a statue of the Merlion overlooking Marina Bay.

That�s the Giralda (the weather vane), the bell tower of the Sevilla Cathedral on the background . . . That�s the Alcazar to the right, a Royal Palace in medieval times to the 18th Century. . . 

Lisbon felt really Old World, they�re among the bottom of the list of the wealthy western european nations ... and they don�t have as much budget to maintain their patrimony and architecture as much as Germany and France . . . honestly I like it . . . felt like walking the streets of medieval europe really . . . 

That�s me and my friends from Marecon, Bolivia, from Germany, Martin and from Curacao, Ariela ... while fooling around the streets of Sevilla . . .  

the thing I hate about having someone else take pictures using my camera are the bad shots that come out . . . my friend (forgot which one) took more pix of the ground than of the head of the statue on the fountain. That�s in one square in Valencia 

We were walking along the streets of Sevilla with my two mexican friends, Victor and Edson. The pretty girls of Valencia posed with me, i wonder who amongst us three IS the latin lover. . . haha 

treading home after a night of hard partying in Sevilla that�s the Torre de Oro along the river Guadalquivir . . . had to cross the bridge. The Torre del Oro was built in 1220 by the Almohads as part of the fortified Alcazar. It is quite noticeable, lying on near the river, and with a distinct 12-sided shape.

 

That�s the Museum of Navigation in Barcelona . . . forgot it�s formal name in Catalan . . . sunset shots are the best . . . 

I love this shot . . . look at the waters . . . that�s my yacht third from the top . . . haha kidding. This was in the Marina of Barcelona

dont mind my funny face here, that�s while trying to get a good shot of me while on the River Cruise of the River Rhine. Yep, my canon ixus 500 propped on top of its mini tripod on top of a nearby table . . . 

On top of the Lorelei rock while on a cruise stop of the River Rhine. Lorelei is the legendary Mermaid who supposedly captivated the hearts of men with her out of this world songs . . . (made me wonder if Lorelei was a filipina) 

Got misself the perfect seat in front of the picture window at Starbucks in Frankfurt�s Main square . . . see the thick book? that�s my Lonely Planet Germany . . . or is it Fodors, hahaha the heck, i aint got no travel book loyalties . . . as long as they provide me with the important digits and details . . . 

the Germans really get their kicks out of strict details and excel in it . . . even their houses and buildings show their stickler for the finest finishes . . .

Felt like I was on top of the world on top of the Eiffel Tower, wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Had to rush to get to the top because the sun sets at 4pm in winter, but I was rewarded with the perfect sunset view of the top of Paris ... and the world 

My Eiffel Tower shot showcased my talents in the Art of Self Photography . . . propped my digicam on its mini tripod on top of a bench and voila, my Eiffel Shot . . . but then my face is horrid here . . . hehe
